Settings → Mailboxes shows each mailbox with a line about its connection: that it works and when SiteBirdy last checked it, or since when it doesn’t and why. Open a mailbox to check it right away. When a mailbox doesn’t work for ten minutes, an exclamation mark shows next to it in the sidebar: click it to see what’s wrong. After an hour you see a notice above your messages, and its owner gets an email, and another one when it works again. While a mailbox you just added comes in, a bar under its name shows how far it is.
